Three simple steps to make sure you're ready for caucus night.
Confirm you are registered to vote in Utah at your current address — check at vote.utah.gov. To participate in Caucus Night you must be registered to vote, but you do not need to be registered as a Democrat.
Use the Caucus Locator to find your caucus location and note the address. Each attendee should pre-register to speed check-in as well as receive email reminders and notifications about the meeting.
Plan to arrive by 6:30 PM for check-in and socializing — the formal meeting begins at 7:00 PM
Decisions that directly shape your daily life, from local school policies to neighborhood infrastructure, are made at the local level. When more citizens participate, those decisions better reflect the needs and values of the entire community.
Handy for taking notes during candidate speeches to help you decide who to vote for. You'll also cast a written paper ballot for candidates. Bring something to write with — pens are usually available but can run out.
If your voter registration is marked as WITHHELD, plan on some extra time to check in and verify your registration. Look up your voter registration on vote.utah.gov so you can show it to the check-in volunteer at your caucus.
Confirm your voter registration at the check-in table and find your precinct number before the meeting begins.
The temporary Chair or county representative officially opens the caucus meeting. At this point, no new attendees may be added to the voter list.

Nominations are opened for each position. Candidates announce their candidacy, give a brief speech (1–2 minutes), and answer questions from attendees.
Verified attendees receive a paper ballot and vote for their preferred candidates. Two volunteers independently count all ballots.
The Chair announces vote totals and winners publicly. Results are recorded in the meeting minutes. Meeting is officially adjourned.
Find your precinct location and plan your evening. Check-in opens at 6:30 PM — arrive early to meet neighbors and candidates.
